Who says concrete is limited to shades of grey? At Slabs By Design, we have reimagined the medium as a versatile canvas for architectural expression. Our curated library has evolved from a foundational set of 22 tones to a spectrum of over 50 signature colours, designed to harmonise with any design vision.
Bespoke Color Calibration
We understand that luxury lies in the details. Every tone in our range can be precision-adjusted to be lighter or darker to suit your specific lighting environment. For projects requiring absolute cohesion, we offer Custom Colour Commissions—simply provide a physical sample, and our artisans will develop a unique pigment match for your project.
Tactile Samples & Tonal Integrity
Concrete is a natural, mineral-based material; its beauty lies in its subtle variations. To assist in your selection, we offer Physical Colour Discs that serve as a reflection of our palette. They provide a guide to the colours, however due to the natural nature of the oxides and environment when pouring, as well as the differing techniques of our artisans, the colours may vary slightly from the sample.
Standard Samples
Our round color discs best represent the smooth, architectural finish of our GFRC Off-theForm mix.
Artisan Samples
 If you are considering a benchtop or furniture piece, we can provide a Square ECC Sample. This allows you to experience the distinct variations of our hand-troweled finish before finalising your commission.
A Note on Natural Variation: Because we use natural oxides and artisanal casting methods, slight tonal shifts may occur between batches. These are not imperfections, but rather the unique "fingerprint" of a hand-cast architectural element
Ordering Your Samples
To experience the true depth of our concrete, we recommend ordering a physical sample before finalising your commission.
Sample Options & Pricing
Round GFRC Discs:
These reflect our signature “Off-the-Form” smooth finish and are the base colour used in all of our mix recipes. Colours will change slightly depending on the finish you select for your project.
Square ECC Samples:
Available for benchtop inquiries to showcase the artisanal “Hand-Troweled” texture and feel. These are not currently available in all colours, however should you require a specific colour in our ECC finish for your project we can pour one for you. We generally start off with sending the colour discs and from there if you want to proceed further we can prepare a custom sample if needed.

While our discs are an excellent reflection of the palette, please note that tones may shift slightly based on your selected finish and the natural variation in our mineral oxides.
