celebrated features of the material.

Premium Aggregates...

For clients seeking a truly distinctive piece, premium aggregate inclusions can be incorporated into the finished surface as an upgrade.

Our Concrete Artistry...

Slabs by Design. utilises a suite of specialty curated concrete compositions, meticulously engineered for the modern architectural landscape. These specialty blends afford us the freedom to achieve unprecedented
structural detail, as well as refined surface elegance transcending traditional concrete masonry

Architectural Mediums...

GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) and ECC (Engineered Cementitious Composites) are our premium choices when crafting our furniture. These advanced mediums offer a level of flexibility and flexural resilience far superior to standard concrete.
Our mixes are infused with high-grade polymers and glass fibers, allowing us to control the very soul of the
material.
The GFRC Aesthetic: A sophisticated, seamless, contemporary look with a uniform tonal profile.
The ECC Aesthetic: A patina that celebrates the raw beauty of rich, organic concrete. Polished and sealed to create textural luxury.

Our Artistic Process...

Every piece we create is a testament to the human touch.
Our GFRC collection is meticulously sprayed into the form before finishing by hand. This precision makes it the premier choice for sculptural basins, bespoke vanities, and statement seating.
Our ECC creations are created by our artisans by and-packing and troweling the mix into its final form. This manual manipulation of the medium coaxes out a nuanced chromatic depth, resulting in a “living” surface defined by its unique
interplay of light and shadow. Due to its exceptional durability, we recommend this finish for prestige culinary spaces,
alfresco kitchens, and heirloom dining tables.

Protecting Our Sculptural Work...

To help you care for our creations, we ensure that the surfaces are coated with a high end sealer matched
specifically to our concrete mediums.
We know that as much care will go into looking after our furniture as we have taken to create it.
You should take care not to scratch the surfaces whcih may damage the sealer. Use of a coaster, placemats and
trivets as well as cleaning up spills in a timely manner will assist you in ensuring your piece is not damaged.

Durability & The "Crack" Fear

GFRC and ECC lightweight concrete mix is lighter, thinner and stronger than traditional precast concrete. It is supercharged with alkali-resistant glass fibres. Think of it as giving concrete superpowers: the strength to resist cracking, the lightness to cut weight by 75%, and the flexibility to bend with minimal risk of breaking. Widely used in architectural applications, GFRC/ECC concrete is an ideal choice for countertops, wall panels, and custom concrete furniture. By combining concrete with glass fibres, GFRC offers unique benefits over traditional concrete, from added strength and durability to design flexibility.

NO. Our premium lightweight concrete mixes average weight is approx 40-50kg per m2 so is suitable for decks and balconies.

Should you chip or scratch the surface of your benchtop we are able to supply a repair kit with instructions to follow. We also offer a sand and reseal service for most clients depending on your location.

GFRC/ECC withstands environmental stress, including moisture, temperature changes, and UV exposure, making it an ideal option for indoor and outdoor applications alike.

Whilst we do everything we can to ensure that your furniture is sealed to allow for easy maintenance, if it is not looked after correctly, it, along with most other surfaces, may mark or stain. Anything acidic should be wiped off the surface as soon as possible. The usual red wine, beetroot, lemon. etc if left on the surface for a period of time may etch into the sealer coating, however, the sealer we use ensures that most liquids “bead up” on the surface and are easily wiped off with a clean soft cloth and warm water. Any PH neutral cleaner is able to be used to clean the surfaces. Avoid anything with essential oils. We are a phone call away if you have any issues

We recommend that you do use placemats and coasters on your surfaces to avoid unneccesary scratches and marking.

When you follow the care guidelines for your concrete furntiure, you should not need to reseal it, however, it is able to be sanded and resealed should the surface get scratched.

We recommend that you use trivetts or placemats when placing hot pans on the surface of your concrete.

We recommend using a PH Neutral cleaner on your concrete furniture. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners and anything with essential oils in them that may impact the sealer coating.

Our curated colour pallet changes to meet the needs of the current industry designs. currently warm, organinc tones such as Terracotta, Sand, Eucalyptus, light greys and bone tones are very popular within our range.
